Mother (Superior) is an optical illusion, ripples of light reflected in the hot desert air. She consists of a series of rotating, reflective, stainless steel stems. Each stem is made of a bent steel tube, rotating and centered upon steel plates as bases. Her poles are bent to create organic, asymmetrical shapes; these create a pattern of disruption along the horizon line. With all her arms moving, Mother (Superior) will be Black Rock City's first three-dimensional, moving mirage.
