"El Diabla," by the Iron Monkeys, surrounded by mud during a significant rain on Tuesday evening, August 26th that paralyzed Black Rock City until well into Wednesday morning. Its name is intentionally dual-gendered, via the masculine article and feminine noun in Spanish. "On the first Monday of the event, Crimson Rose extracts a flame from the sun to light a fire in El Diabla, a special cauldron located in Center Camp. For the flame to continue burning it must be stoked, disturbed, and kept alive throughout the entire week. We encourage all those that encounter El Diabla to help keep this flame alive."
