The Temple of Together Burn

I was riding to the Temple burn and could feel the dust storms starting. I missed last year’s burn so was a bit apprehensive either I would have a bad view, or the dust storms would force another postponement. All of a sudden the tall Burnstream Point LightHouse art car appeared before me. I looked up and there were only two people in the nest, so I asked for permission to come aboard in the absolutely nicest voice I could muster. They just grinned and said, go on up! We settled in up top, the back of our skulls seared every few seconds by the spinning giant beacon. The dust storm raged and I was sure we would be climbing back down in disappointment, but then a small fire lit at the base of the temple! What followed was absolutely mind blowing, we were above the majority of the windswept dust, looking across at the Temple as the fire spread, illuminating the swirling clouds around it into a red glow I’ll never forget. The Temple peaked in an out of the raging storm, showing us moments of incredible fire that made my hands shake as I tried to steady the camera for the shots. It…was…so…beautiful. Thank you to the Burnstream Point LightHouse crew for your hospitality.
