The intricate, knot-like structure is constructed out of 39 custom plywood rings split into two sizes (21 large and 18 small). To build the complex nested form, the crew wove individual interlocking arcs together directly on the desert sand, gluing and joining them layer by layer. The inner layers of the CNC-routed plywood rings featured cut-out voids engineered intentionally to make the entire structure lighter and allow it to burn cleanly and spectacularly at the conclusion of the festival.
