Helios is a sculpture that serves as a catalyst for new beginnings. To activate the sculpture, Helios first invites the visitor to make a statement of what they would like to illuminate or instigate within themselves. Upon ascending to one of six elevated platforms, you are invited to bring to life the physical gesture of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man drawing, to symbolically and physically generate both the lights of the sculpture, and that which you would like to activate within yourself. Through communal effort, we create light, a metaphor of our communities efforts to illuminate the darkness, and to bring out the light within ourselves and our world.
